Motherhuts was founded in Nov 2019 by Viren Roy Chetal & Gobinda Malakar when they were working for an organization together. The organization did not provide lunch in the afternoon which was problematic, and they daily had to spend time deciding what to order and this was leading to an unhealthy diet. They saw this as a problem which was much bigger and there is a large crowd out there which is facing the same problem. Spending around 150 to 250 rupees for a one time meal on a daily basis is something which can be difficult for an employee or student who is studying outside, moreover, the biggest problem is the unhealthy food that is being promoted and people are forced to order online from restaurants or go out which is time killing.
This is when they came up with the solution of bringing home-cooked food which is delivered straight from the home kitchen and sell it at a minimal cost to the public outside, especially the corporate world. It is natural to miss home food when you are staying away from home.
Motherhuts empower and provide viable income options to women who are homemakers, Motherhuts lets them delve in their passion for cooking and delivering yummy, tasty, healthy food. The food is prepared in their very own houses, they put in all the effort to make the food fresh and we deliver their efforts in neatly packed meal boxes.
The name Motherhuts is derived from two words mainly ‘Mother’ meaning ‘Maa’ obviously and ‘Huts’ meaning ‘home’ to indicate the food is homely.
Their home chefs offer North Indian & South Indian meals: Lunch and dinner are provided to customers through a subscription model. A specific time is set for the delivery in a day and our delivery boy picks up the order from the home kitchen and delivers it to the customer. Every day their customers experience a meal box delivery, packed with freshness, quality, care & hygiene. Also, the boxes are made of steel and that makes them environment friendly.
How Motherhuts works:
They offer three subscription plans, 15 meals, 30 meals, and 45 meals with a validity of 30, 60, and 90 days, respectively.

The journey so far:
They are currently operating across three regions in Bangalore which are BTM Layout, HSR Layout, Bommanahalli and has plans to expand across the whole city
They have successfully onboarded 5 home kitchens in Bangalore and are delivering to 25+ customers to date.
They have a strong core team of 5 members which includes Viren Roy Chetal and Gobinda Malakar as Co-Founder, Rashmi Kerimath as CTO, Imran Landur as Sales Head, and Namrata Gowda as Marketing Head. There are currently 9 employees as a chef and delivery partner.
They are bringing people to the company with a different set of skills and knowledge who can help them build a better service and experience for the customers and contribute to the overall growth of the company.
As a response to the COVID scenario, the company has started offering a new subscription plan of 60 meals in 30 days (lunch and dinner) at a meagre price of Rs 4600 for Veg and Rs 6600 for Veg and Non-Veg both. To facilitate that they have onboarded 2 more home kitchens.
